Jul 03, 2011 · I have a 1991 Johnson 60 hp outboard that is hard to start. I found some fuel leaking from the electronic primer solenoid cover and replaced it and the gasket but it did not help. I did the ohm test on the primer solenoid and it appears to pass, but I suspect it is not working.

Boat has sat for a while will start with battery charged but am sure it needs a good going over. Have the seals and filter to go with the sale.

Oct 19, 2010 · Re: Yamaha 40 2 stroke Prime Start not working there are 3 positions on that red lever, open which manually enriches the engine for cold starts,closed which shuts ANY enrichment off and normal which allows the prime start to function normally. that open socket simply indicates its not rigged with a digital tach, its for the tach visual indicates.
